Retailers Anticipate $245M in Back-to-School Sales

Nevada retailers anticipate $245 million in back-to-school sales or 14.1% more than last year, based on the latest survey results from the National Retail Federation (NRF). Families with children in grades K-12 are expected to spend an average of $689 on clothing, backpacks and other supplies, up from $604 spent last year. There are approximately 1 million households in Nevada, and 34% have one or more children in grades K-12, resulting in about $245 million in estimated sales.
