Top Economic Events for the Week of April 3

From Economic Calendar, the top US Economic news coming out this week:

1. Federal Reserve FOMC minutes

Minutes from the March FOMC meeting will be released on Wednesday April 5th at 14.00 ET.
The FOMC voted to increase interest rates at the March meeting.

2. US ISM manufacturing index

The US ISM manufacturing index will be released on Monday April 3rd at 10.00 ET.

The latest ISM data will be important for underlying confidence in the US outlook. The February manufacturing data was strong with the highest reading since late 2014.

3. President Trump – Chinese President Xi meeting

US President Trump is due to meet with Chinese President Xi in Florida on April 6th and 7th.
The meeting between the US and Chinese Presidents will be important on economic, political and security grounds.

4. US employment report

The US employment report will be released on Friday April 7th at 08.30 ET.
After a relatively lackluster week for US data, there will be a return to heavyweight releases including the employment report. There will inevitably be short-term volatility with markets also looking to assess potential longer-term implications.
